The AAPPO Academic Development Mentorship Scheme (2021 – 2022) will be held again in a “virtual” format, on Aug 28, 2021 (Sat).
Developed to cultivate and nurture future academic leaders in the Asia-Pacific region, ADMS participants will receive orientation and development skills through not only small class teaching, but also one-on-one mentoring from our established and senior AAPPO fellows, who will oversee and offer professional guidance over the course of the Scheme.

The AAPPO The AAPPO would like to cordially invite you, The Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand, to nominate one participant for its Class IV ADMS, which will be run from August 2021 to August 2022. Each country/region will have at most 2 candidates to participate in the program. Successful participants will join the ADMS as Mentees, who will be expected to attend a one-day program virtually on Aug 28, 2021. Mentees are also required to complete a self-initiated project over the course of the ADMS.

The nomination form and nomination protocol have been attached for your kind perusal. A complete nomination form should be returned to our Executive Officer, Winnie Ho, at winnieho@aapp-ophth.org no later than Jun 4, 2021 (Friday). Results will be announced in June/July.

The AAPPO Council has pledged to support its ADMS by offering Mentees complimentary registration for the virtual ADMS program (Aug 28, 2021) and the APAO 2021 Virtual Congress (Sept 5 – 11, 2021). The complimentary registration for APAO 2021 Virtual Congress will only be provided upon the completion of the virtual ADMS program. Other costs, such as travel and accommodation expenses to attend the APAO 2022 congress are to be borne by the Mentees. Nominating vitreoretinal and ophthalmological societies are encouraged to find ways to offer financial support where appropriate.
