Candidate Eligibility
A potential LDP participant should be:
- A visionary future leader with passion and determination to serve the profession and society at large
- A qualified eye doctor
- Highly proficient in English
- Ideally aged 50 or younger
- Committed to participating in all elements of the LDP
The selected participants will embark on a one-year journey that includes a structured program pathway spanning three different countries as follows:
APAO will cover the cost of organizing the lectures and workshop for the program, and congress registration fees will be waived for participants. Other costs, such as travel and accommodation, will be borne by the individual participant and/or the nominating party, as mutually agreed. Member societies are encouraged to support their nominated participants. All nominees will be notified of the selection results in early November 2025.
