ABSTRACT
Ten
pafients with iron-containing intraocular foreign bodies were undergone electroretinographic
test at Department of Ophthalmology, Siriraj Hospital between November 1992
and March 1995.
The changes varied from
normal, supernormal, negative, subnormal to extinguished ERG. These changes
were not correlated with the harboring time of the intraocular foreign bodies.
The electroretinographic test was useful for evaluating retinal function in
siderosis bulbi and had a prognostic value. A careful test and interpretation
should be carried out in this group of patients.
