Kenacort-A with Conjunctival Autografting in the Surgical Management of Pterygium.

ABSTRACT New technique of pterygium excision with conjunctival autograft with Kenacort-A injection were reported.

Methods: Ninety patients who had pterygium underwent excision of pterygium by one surgeon. Patients were randomized into three groups of 30 patients each.

Patients in group I were used the technique of conjunctival autograft. The recurrence rate was 33.33%

Patients in group II were used the technique of bare sciera with Kenacort-A injection. The recurrent rate was 26.67%

Patients in group III were used the technique of conjunctival autograft with Kenacort-A injection. The recurrent rate was 6.67%

The mean follow up period was 12 months

Conclusion: This study indicates the advantage technique of conjuntival autograft with Kenacort-A injection.
