ABSTRACT Contrast
sensitivity test was measured in normal Thai people age 5-60 years
using the Vistech Contrast Sensitivity distance chart (VCT 6500).
The purpose of this study
was to estab lish normative data in Thai people to assist clinicians in
evaluating the patients. The normal range in Thai people is similar to the
norms provided by the VCT 6500. Contrast sensitivity function of the right
eye is not different from the left eye. One patch difference between right
and left eye in any frequency is considered to be normal. A difference of
two or more patches between the curve of each eye at any particular frequency
or a difference of one patch at three or more frequencies should be watched
carefully.
