ABSTRACT
Two
hundred and eighty-five premature babies, born at Siriraj Hospital w~re ex
amined for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) during October 1991- September
1993. Thirty-seven of them developed ROP. The greatest high risk group was
babies with birth weight less than 1,250 gm, 30.65% of them developed ROP.
Screening and treatment at optimal time can reduce visual morbidity in these
patients.
