ABSTRACT Diagnosis
of ocular toxoplasmosis is usually based on the characteristic necrotizing
retinochoroiditis in combination with positive serologic titers. We reported
a 54-year-old female patient which the fundus lesions were not so typical
and serologic titer was markedly low. The diagnosis was made by isolation
of Toxoplasma gondii from subretinal content. Histological study by Giemsa
stain and ultrastructural features demonstrated by electron microscopy confirmed
the identification.
