Abstract Suspected of infection in 31 cases of soft contact
lens wearens were studied for microorganisms by smears and cultures. Resulted
22 cases of positive cultured (70.97%) and 19 cases of them were found gram
negative bacilli (86.36%). Among these cases, were proved by culture to
be Psueodomonas in 14 cases (63.64%). Surprisingly the second cause of contact
lens infection next to pseudomonas was bacterial flora of the eye and
also surprisingly we found no Psueodomonas among all four cases of infected
extended soft contact lens wearers. |
