Compliance with Treatment of Glaucoma Patients

Success in medical treatment of glaucoma pa tients depends on regularly use of the antiglauco matous drugs to reduce the intraocular pressure to a level that will safely preserve the optic nerve fiber. Patient co-operation in this matter re quires several factors to accomplish good com pliance. Related to the drug itself, concentration, prescription, side effect and number of total regimens might take some part. Moreover, knowledge on illness and good understanding in the necessity of treatment may play some roles in contributing to better compliance.

The purpose of this study is to find factors which contribute to poor compliance to find out the practical ways of improving effectiveness in medical treatment of glaucoma patients.
